Diuretics are the first-line option for cardiac cirrhosis.
Aggressive diuresis is often required to reduce the edema.
However, one must treat the primary cause of cardiac failure.
There is no role of the use of beta blockers acutely in the setting of acute decompensated cardiac cirrhosis, especially if acute heart failure or cardiogenic shock could be the potential cause of cardiac cirrhosis.
