MUSCULOCUTANEOUS NERVE
MUSCULOCUTANEOUS NERVE
- It is a branch of lateral cord of brachial plexus with root value C5,6,7.
- It supplies Biceps brachii, corachobrachialis, and brachialis.
- After supplying these muscles, musculocutaneous nerve continues as lateral cutaneous nerve of forearm supplying the skin of lateral border of forearm.
Damage to musculocutaneous nerve results in:
- Weakness of flexion of elbow due to paralysis of biceps & brachialis.
- Loss of supination of semifixed forearm due to paralysis of biceps.
- Sensory loss along the lateral (radial) border of forearm.
- Loss of biceps jerk.
