Correct Answer » A

Explanation

A i.e., 3rd

The inferior oblique is one of the six extraocular muscles that control eye movement. Unlike most muscles that originate from the back of the orbit, the inferior oblique is unique because it originates from the anterior part of the orbit (maxillary bone).

Innervation:

  • Supplied by the inferior division of the oculomotor nerve (cranial nerve III)

  • This nerve also supplies:

    • Medial rectus

    • Inferior rectus

    • Levator palpebrae superioris

    • Sphincter pupillae and ciliary muscle (via parasympathetics)
