A. Type l or Von Gierke Disease

B. Type II or Hensen disease

C. Type III or Cori disease

D. Type IV or Andersen disease

Show Answer

Correct Answer » A

Explanation

Ans.A. Type I or Von Gierke Disease
Glycogen storage disease is characterized by the deposition of an abnormal type or quantity of glycogen in tissues or failure to mobilize glycogen.
Type I Glycogen disorder or Von Gierke’s disease occurs due to a deficiency of the enzyme glucose-6-phosphatase.
Clinical features are glycogen storage in the liver and renal tubule cell, hypoglycemia, lactic acidemia, ketosis, and hyperlipemia.

As this enzyme is absent in muscle, so muscles are not affected in Glycogen storage disease type I.
