Anemia in pregnancy
→ World Health Organization (WHO) has defined anemia during pregnancy as hemoglobin concentration of less than 11 gm% and a hematocrit of less than 33%.
→ CDC (Center for Drug Control) proposes a cut off point of 11 gm% in 1st and 3rd trimester and 10.5 gm% during 2nd trimester.
Anemia in pregnancy:
Physiological Anemia-Hb is never <11gm/dl
Pathological Anemia-Hb is <11gm/dl
