Chloroma


CHLOROMA

  • Also called as myeloblastoma, granulocytic sarcoma.
  • It is a localised tumour forming mass occurring in the skin of orbital & periorbital tissue due to infiltration of tissues by leukemic cells.
  • It is hematopoietic stem cell tumour.
  • Most commonly associated with t (8: 21) & AML M2.

Etiology-

  • Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS)
  • Myeloproliferative syndrome (MPS)

Pathogenesis-

  • Arbiskov cells are monocytes seen in myeloblastoma.

Clinical features-

  • Most commonly involved areas are skin & gums, orbit of eyes.
  • Gum hypertrophy

 

Diagnosis-

  • Biopsy

Treatment

  • Chemotherapy
  • Surgery
  • Radiation therapy
