Superficial punctuate keratitis
Dendritic ulcer is the classic herpetic corneal lesion, caused by herpes simplex virus.
- This photograph has been taken under cobalt blue filter of the slit-lamp after fluorescein staining.
- Fluorescein staining shows an irregular zig-zag, branching corneal ulcer with terminal bulbs.
- This is called a dendritic ulcer, typical of Herpes simplex virus.
- 3% acyclovir ointment (5times/day)
- Epithelial debridement
Note:Topical Steroids are contraindicated
