Physiology of Mid dilated pupil & Iris
Tense person sitting in the dark
↓
Mid dilated pupil
- Increase in the physiological pupil block
-
Dilatation of pupil Renders peripheral iris more flaccid
More aqueous in the posterior chamber
- Increase in IOP
- ↑IOP causes iris bombe
Apposition of iris to lens, preventing aqueous from flowing from the posterior to the anterior chamber
- Angle obstruction by peripheral iris & rise in IOP
- The pressure in the posterior chamber rises, resulting in anterior bowing of the peripheral iris and obstruction of the trabecular meshwork.
