Bile Pigment Bile Pigment Any of several colored compounds derived from porphyrin(myoglobin and heamoglobin)  Found in bile; principally bilirubin and biliverdin. Bilirubin is hydrophobic and potentially toxic compound. Bilirubin is metabolised like xenobiotics.
