Chronic inflammation CHRONIC INFLAMMATION Chronic inflammation is the inflammation of prolonged duration with tissue destruction.  Characteristics of Chronic inflammation- Infiltration with mononuclear cells includes- macrophages (most important), lymphocytes and plasma cells.
