Classification of fracture of Neck of Femur:
- Stage 1: The fracture is incomplete, with the head tilted in postero-lateral direction, so that there is an obtuse angle laterally at the trabecular stream. This is also called an
impacted or abducted fracture.
- Stage 2: The fracture is complete but undisplaced, so that there is a break in the trabecular stream with little angulation.
- Stage 3: The fracture is complete and partially displaced.
- Stage 4: The fracture is complete and fully displaced.
