C. Perinephric cyst
D. Renal cell carcinoma
Answer- D. Renal cell carcinoma
- Most likely diagnosis for an asymptomatic complex cyst in a 65 yeurs old male as given in CT image, which appears as exophytic mass is renal cell carcinoma.
- ” CT scanning is more sensitive than (/S or IVU for detection of renal masses. A typical finding of RCC on CT is a mass that becomes enhanced with the use of intravenous eontrasl media. In general, RCC exhibits an overall decreased density in Hounsfield units compared with nor- mal renal parenchyma but shows a heterogeneous pattern of enhancemenl or increased attenuation (slightly decreasedfrom the surrounding parenchyma) when contrast is used. In addition to defining the primary lesion, CT scanning is also the method of choice in staging the patient by visualizing the renal hilum, perinephry space, renal vein and vena cava, adrenals, regional lymphatics, and adjacent organs.
